| On April 1, 2008, the minimum liability limits for Texas Auto Insurance will increase from $20,000 per person, $40,000 for everyone injured in an accident, and $15,000 for property damage to $25,000 per injured person, $50,000 for everyone injured in an accident, and $25,000 for property damage, also commonly referred to as 25/50/25.
Texas Auto Insurance regulations: Texas law requires proof of financial responsibility for anyone who drives an automobile in the State.
Liability insurance pays for bodily injury, property damage, and some additional expenses of other drivers, their passengers, and your passengers when you or a driver covered by your policy causes an accident. Liability insurance does not pay for damage to your own vehicle, or for your own bodily injury.
